An entrepreneurial and innovative grower at West Java (Indonesia), Theo Hadinata, gets to know a Dutch company which is for over 30 years active in
fresh cut fruit and vegetable processing. The Javanese company cuts manually at small scale vegetables for among others McDonalds and Burger King. They decide to join business and set up the first industrial scale fresh cut vegetable factory in Indonesia.
With support of a Dutch governmental grant program the plan can be realized. The big challenge is to design a factory from the Netherlands, realize it in West
Java and subsequently join the start-up.
The result:
- A Western style small scale industrial production facility.
- Trained local personnel that can operate food safe and that can maintain the equipment.
- An upgrade of the quality management system, fitting the requirements of multinationals like McDonalds.
